Within the framework of the forum, a panel discussion "Realizing Russia's potential in the global Renewable Energy Industry" was held.
Today, the global energy sector is undergoing a period of irreversible transformation. The energy transition – "energy transition" - is on the political agenda of many countries. It focuses on the large-scale use of clean energy sources, distributed renewable energy, the formation of decentralized markets, the intellectualization of infrastructure and the transition of consumers to active, pro-consumer behaviors. Russia, which occupies a leading position in the global energy markets, acts in accordance with these global trends. Every year, the volume of commissioning of new renewable energy facilities in the country is growing. Russian technologies and production of equipment for renewable energy sources are developing. Domestic companies are entering export markets.
All this together marks a new stage in the development of Russian renewable energy. What are the priorities for further development of the domestic renewable energy industry? Can RES as a science-intensive, high-tech and export-oriented industry become one of the sources of accelerating economic development? What is the potential for international cooperation in the production and trade of renewable energy components? What are the most promising renewable energy markets for Russian technologies? What is the probability of the emergence of breakthrough technologies that can dramatically accelerate the development of renewable energy markets? How should state support for Russian renewable energy change?
