Within the framework of the ENABLING PV project, round tables are regularly held to discuss the beginning of possible cooperation with a new region, in this case with St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.
The event was organized by: the German consulting company eclareon GmbH, the Non-Profit Partnership for the Development of Renewable Energy "EUROSOLAR Russia", the German Association of the Solar Industry (BSW-Solar).
The event was held in a hybrid format, but most of the guests and speakers took part in the event in person. The event was attended by representatives of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Moscow, the St. Petersburg Center for Energy Conservation, the German Solar Industry Association, NP EUROSOLAR Russia, Unigreen Energy, INTECUS Engineering Company for Technical Environmental Protection, St. Petersburg State Mining University and Baker McKenzie.
This year, the following topics were discussed at the round table in St. Petersburg:
- successful cooperation with the Russian Federation as an energy supplier and an important player in the global energy market, including RES. The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Moscow supports and is ready to support the development of photovoltaics in Russia in the future;
Thomas Henzschel, Head of the Economic Department of the Federal Republic of Germany in Moscow, noted the importance of transferring the knowledge and experience accumulated in Germany, as well as the skills of German colleagues in the field of renewable energy to Russia. The development of partnership and new joint projects, which are not only educational in nature, is welcomed and encouraged by the Embassy.
- Successfully developed formats of projects under the auspices of ENABLING PV and implemented experience in other regions of Russia;
- Opportunities, prospects, options for the implementation of pilot projects in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region;
- Technical solutions using photovoltaics and examples of successful implementation of photovoltaic projects;
- Teaching and research in the field of energy efficiency and digital technologies at the Mining University in St. Petersburg and possible ideas for cooperation;
- German experience in the use of solar power plants in closed landfills.
After the final discussion and numerous ideas and plans for the development of PV projects for the region, it is important to organize these projects together, taking into account the interests of each party separately and exchanging experience.
